Going to a beach wedding in France in late June. I want something colorful and bright like Lilly Pulitzer but not sure if this is too casual?
https://www.lillypulitzer.com/parigi-skort-romper/007383.html?dwvar_007383_color=6873MI I am also considering another dress that’slayered and chiffon. Is that “too poofy” for a beach wedding? https://www.macys.com/shop/product/sl-fashions-womens-floral-print-chiffon-high-low-dress?ID=20749208&cm_mmc=OpsEmail-_-240_order_confirmation-_-20749208-_-MB&m_sc=em&m_sb=OpsEmail&m_tp=1C&m_cn=240_order_confirmation&m_pi=MB&m_l=20749208&m_s=OES-UOP2401CMCOM050325&cm_lm_mo64=aHNpZWhzbUBob3RtYWlsLmNvbQ==&OESRECIPE_ID=2102-21 |

The first looks too casual in my opinion. If you like Lily Pulitzer, these seem a bit more special occasion to me.

There were many nice suggestions. |
| Try searching “summer beach wedding guest dress” on plush.shop. I’ve gotten really good results. Can add anything you’d like too, like “between $300-800”, or “bright color”, “off the shoulder”, etc. |
| The other thing to consider with a dress for a beach wedding is the wind. So you may not want a loose shorter skirt for a beach wedding because you'll potentially be holding onto that skirt the whole time to keep it from blowing up. |

We can't tell you if it's too casual because we don't know anything about this wedding or couple or venue or anything.
Tell us more and we can try to help you. But without knowing more? Yes, too casual. |
| OP here - thanks for the suggestions! As for more info… the wedding will take place at a city hall nearby and then we all drive to the resort site for the reception. It’s a resort on the beach where everyone gets their own cabins. There will be families from all over the world so it’s a pretty big wedding. |
| I have lived in Europe for 15 years. The only dress that is okay is the first LP. I cannot believe people pay these prices for comically dowdy dresses like these. I would buy something in France -- far more bang for the buck. |
You could have said it in a nicer way but I agree. |

Check out Mirth--they have beautiful dresses that would work for this kind of wedding:

NP. What a great tool!! Now I'm going to be using that for everything. I have the Poupette St Barth Dress (#2) in two different colorways and I can recommend it. It's incredibly flattering and I wore it earlier this year to a destination beach wedding. There are usually a couple on TheRealReal so it's worth it to check there for your size. |

I saw this in person and it’s lovely and vibrant.

The Lily is too casual. The Macy's dress is better.
I like this Vinyard Vines -- has a similar vibe to the Macy's dress. https://www.vineyardvines.com/product/womens-dresses/kd25-ruffle-tiered-dress/2Q011689.html?color=I412 |
I love that one. OP, I am a big fan of Lilly but don't think their florals are right for a beach wedding in France. Maybe some of the solids, but those aren't as fun. |
That's a really cute dress! |
