Jefferson Cup

Has it fully lost its value and charm?

What’s the best tournament for my DS team to compete in and get exposure of national caliber?

We’re with one of the prominent Leesburg clubs and our coach and admin staff are guaranteeing we’ll be the best soccer club in eastern USA by the end of next summer’s World Cup.

Loudoun/NVA teams are a cluster F. There are so many kids in that area that you’d assume that with such a large talent pool, they should dominate across the board…but they never do. They are a mid club that should compete at a far higher level. NVA will get butchered in their first season in MLSNext. That should serve as a wake up call. Hopefully for the better.

And BTW, if you are not the club heading to MLSNext next year, then the club you speak of is only prominent in its own mind.

Jeff Cup is from a bygone era. ECNL is now lapped by MLSNext.

Your DC couldn’t make a top LS team eh, no reason to trash a club out of jealousy. Take a deep breath and relax, it’s kids soccer for crying out loud. Chill!

Most likely a VRSC staffer seeing that 25-26 year isn’t going to be that golden with their tier 2 leagues and will actually need to develop children instead of buying a spot in the real mls next environment. LMFAO

Jeff Cup is ranked #1 for girls and #31 for boys.

Asking people in this forum for their opinion of this tournament is opening the floor gate to a very wide spectrum of opinions and feelings.

I appreciate the research, for real.

However, this is the part I found to be both out of touch and hilarious, "We’re with one of the prominent Leesburg clubs and our coach and admin staff are guaranteeing we’ll be the best soccer club in eastern USA by the end of next summer’s World Cup."

Amusing, yes.

But this is the way any club employee should be marketing their club. So if the OP bought it, good on that club’s marketing team.

As for “prominent Leesburg club”, I can think of the two main ones (if there are more than two, I don’t know). Both are doing quite well in convincing their customers.

I would say no harm no foul. (Even though I hate one of those clubs)

I think as the kids get older, you realize that the number of colleges recruiting is not nearly as good as the ECNL events.

I wasn't arguing college recruitment is strong at Jeff Cup. I simply posted what Google stated, which is what most people know, Jeff Cup gives the highest points for teams with regards to points. This is probably more valuable for U-littles and maybe up to freshman (or even sophomore) years. Obviously, ECNL showcases will have much more recruiters from colleges. Jeff Cup is for bragging rights. Showcases are for recruiting.
