DMV Clubs and College Placement

Asking for a friend. What are the most popular clubs that have a good track record of placing kids at good colleges including Ivy League?
Anonymous
none of these clubs are "placing" kids in the ivy league

Bethesda, FVU ( when McLean was in there), Arlington and NVA do.

I think McLean has the most impressive college placements. I think a lot of the girls also have high academic achievements.

Boys or girls? Arlington and Bethesda for boys.

You need to be smart enough to get in.

DP- No. You don't get recruited to Ivys.

You’ll see more of these high academic commits from clubs in McLean, Bethesda, Arlington. But it’s not because these clubs are doing something special. It’s because the kids in those areas are more likely to go to these colleges without soccer. They have high grades, highly educated and involved parents who have the resources to pay for private high schools and $90k a year for college.

you absolutely get recruited for ivies. They have ID camps, the coaches come to showcases, etc. The only difference is that the grades are much more a part of the conversation. Also, the pre-read matters. If you look like you won’t make it through the pre-read and get a “likely letter” the coach won’t waste a pre-read on you.

Of course you do.

What is the pre-read?

What is the pre-read?

Pre read is when the admissions office takes an early look at your application to see if you are likely to be accepted. They don’t really lower the admission standards for athletes. Need to have grades & test scores in same ballpark with the non-athletes.

Arlington and Bethesda on the boys side have the track record of producing men who can both play well on the field and handle the academic rigor of top universities.

I assume you mean the kids living in Arlington and Bethesda areas.
Not the soccer clubs

But I'm sure they don't do better than any other affluent areas in the DMV

Yes they do recruit but the player doesn’t have to be from an affluence or have attended a private school. That’s a worn out stereotype.
