Passport validity

I will be traveling to Hungary, Austria, Denmark, and Germany this fall. The end of my trip will mark 5 months until my passport expires. Has anyone had problems in Europe with passports that have less than 6 months validity? Online everything indicates 3 months, but I’m feeling a little paranoid.

That's because 3 months is the rule for those countries.not 6 months. Different countries have different rules, 3 months is the rule for where you are going. You will be fine.
