How is the heights?

Anonymous
Not a prospective parent but always wondered what it offers compared to other local schools. I never see it talked about, and I can’t find out if it’s high end, or midrange. Just give me all the info you can give me thanks.

OP I typed "The Heights" into this forum's search box. 3,633 records came up. There were 146 pages of results. Why don't you try the same, and then read through what is there?

This. Especially since this is about idle curiosity, not a school you are considering for your kid.

Cue the Opus Dei haters. We looked at The Heights. Seems like a great school, but you'll also get a lot of negative feedback from many just because of the school's philosophy. And agree with PP, there is plenty of information on this forum about it.

What do you mean by this in the context of a school?

We looked at it for 9th and I liked it a lot. My ds did a shadow day. He felt like a lot of the students there come from wealthy families and didn’t want to be “the poor one”, which is kind of par for the course at alot of schools around here. Plus it was a long commute for us. I still think it’s a great school for the right student/family.

I like reading about schools. No personal experience, but they produce reliably a national merit semi-finalist or two, and are a notch down in price compared to a place like Bullis, which doesn't. Their catalog course descriptions sound like they offer a fairly serious traditional education. I could see myself sending kids there, were I a wealthy Catholic who lived in Maryland and had sons.

Several colleagues send their sons to the Heights and always have very positive feedback when I ask them about school. They also like the extracurricular activities and sports (some open to all students, no tryouts).

They have a podcast. It’s called HeightsCast

"Cray"? The fatigue is reaching levels that shouldn't even be possible.
