Vienna 2013 Girls Tryouts

How did they go last night? Did a lot of girls show up? Anyone know how many roster spots they have available?

It was 90% all existing VYS players. There'll be two teams with rosters of 18 most likely (as that's the standard). I wouldn't expect many open spot. Most of the Phoenix players will make up the top team and Red players will make up the second team (give or take a few on each team).

Is there a second tryout? I could not find info on site. Trying to juggle too many kids and too many sports.

How does that make sense if all the posts on the MYS and Union threads about how good the Vienna teams are is true?

I heard 3 made union and some going to Arlington and VDA

That’s true for other age groups but the 2013 McLean team was coached by DB who then moved to FVU for next season. Plenty of VYS girls on the other FVU teams.

MYS 2013 green team makes up most of the Union team. I think 1-3 players from Phoenix got offers. The rest of the Phoenix team will be the first time for VYS next fall and the red team will be the second team for VYS. There is only two teams at U13 for Vienna.

Last set of tryouts are today but I think most offers have gone out already.
