| Looking for the best bakery in the area for cakes! Any suggestions? |
| American bakeries are not very well-known for cakes. You might have better luck contacting someone who specialises in wedding cakes. |
There are many threads on this but it would help if you define what your area ks. In MoCo, people often recommend: Tout de Sweet; Praline; Les Delices; Stellas; Potomac Sweets, and there’s a new place on the east side of the county that just won a bunch of awards but I’m blanking on the name. There’s also the French bakery at cabin John shopping center but I’m blanking on the name. We got cake from Tout de sweet for Christmas and they were very good. I’ve had Stella’s and Les delices in years past and they were also good, but it’s been a while since I got anything at either place. |
| any in Tysons+ area? |
| Pastries by Randolph and Heidelberg are pretty popular in Arlington. |
And Bakeshop in Arlington/Falls Church |
| Tout de Sweet in Bethesda has a French chef who makes more refined, less cloyingly sweet, cakes, compared to regular American desserts. |
None of these taste good. Some of them look pretty. |
| Some people like Korean bakeries for less sweet cakes. |
I don’t think Bakeshop or Heidelberg are really known for their cakes. Randolph’s, yes. |
You will have to pre-order, I think. Take a peek at their website. They're excellent! |
