I adore these names. Unfortunately it would be impossible and cruel to give one of these names to a baby today.
Are there any other beautiful classic names that have become a no-no? |
If you like them use them. |
Allegra |
Hillary. |
So just a thread to slam names. Huh. |
Caroline and Alicia |
Not slam but talk about how annoying it is when you love a name and then something happens and people get a strong association with it. I think of that scene in Jane the Virgin where they introduce the twins. Anna and Elsa. |
Just give different variations. Corinna, Karina, Alexandra, Alexis. |
For whatever this is worth, OP, my name is Karen, and for my entire 48 years since I've been aware of my name I've hated it.
And I have a relative named Alexa who sometimes goes by Lolly, and she isn't phased at all by "the Alexa" existing. |
Jasmine
Tim José Josie Eleanor Ashley Theodore |
I don't get thr references |
Why? |
I love Eleanor and Theodore. So elegant. |
Kathleen |
Names that haven’t aged well;
Monica (Lewinsky) Katrina (hurricane) Yasmin(e) - birth control pill Molly - slang name for Ecstasy Candice/Candace - “can dis fit” Mercedes - all car now nickname Kitty for Katherine. Akin to pus*y |
