Harvard Report on Antisemitism

This is a fascinating read, not just for its relatively unvarnished description of the terrible treatment of Jewish students on campus, but the analysis of how Harvard got here, and some of it is fundamental to how the University and admissions are structured. One professor cites the transfer of power from academics to administrators. A professor is quoted as saying that students feel they must bear the weight of their identities because “that is how they sold themselves to Harvard in the application process.” One student is quoted as saying “Instead of diversity moderating people, people became more extreme.”

This seems to go to the heart of how Harvard (and many, if not most, other universities) have structured themselves in recent years. It will be very interesting to see if Harvard takes this seriously and we see any real introspection regarding how counterproductive their policies have been with respect to their stated goals.

The first report is about the actions against Jewish students. The second report is about feelings.

Dismissive and contemptuous as usual.

Not dismissive just facts. If you put on a mask and hold up a sign about globalizing the intifada, don’t cry about your feelings when someone calls you a terrorist.

Let's be real about what's happening: They're outraged about "terrible treatment of Jewish students" on campuses while Gaza's schools and universities are literally being reduced to rubble. Palestinian kids haven't seen the inside of a classroom for a year and a half, and won't anytime soon.
I'm sick of the excuse that "Hamas is hiding everywhere" to justify what Israel's military has done. How does the so-called "most moral army in the world" end up killing thousands of children? Thousands of mothers? Countless innocent people just trying to survive?
And yes, I know the difference between criticizing Zionism and being antisemitic. It's those who weaponize accusations of antisemitism to shut down any criticism who are showing their true colors.
The solution to our country's financial problems is staring us in the face: stop funneling billions in military aid to Israel year after year. We're sending weapons that rain down destruction while Americans struggle to pay their bills. But AIPAC's grip on our politicians is so tight, they're more loyal to Israel's interests than to their own constituents.
