Video of unidentified men detaining suspect in Virginia court raises civil liberties fears

A video showing a man being hauled away from a Virginia courthouse by a group of plainclothes men who refused to show ID or a warrant to his attorneys raises new questions about how federal immigration agents are operating.

Attorneys for the man, identified as Teodoro Dominguez-Rodriguez, originally of Honduras, said they had no official notification of where he had been taken after the incident April 22. Federal records show a man of that name is being held at the Farmville Detention Center in Virginia.

This is scary stuff. Mask men show up in plain clothes and start kidnapping a man in a courtroom. Bystanders and his lawyer do the right thing and step up to help the man. The men refuse to show identification, refuse to say what agency they are with, refuse to say what the charges are and refuse to show a warrant. This is not America.

There is video with the story. Now the people who questioned the action of these unidentified men are being charged. We need to know the names of the men and what agency(if any) they work for.

Why is ICE so resistant to showing ID? Are they scared of people coming after them? Couldn’t they just have an ICE ID made with a code name if that is the case?

The fact that all these agents refuse to identify themselves is crazy. It's going to lead to someone getting killed.

How many times have people impersonated ICE because it's...so easy? There is literally no badge or laminate you have to forge.

I think's it's already happened twice that we know of since January 20.

I hope some brave people impersonate ICE and kidnap Stephan Miller.

In a local NOVA parents group I am in, someone reported her DH was detained by ICE for "driving while Hispanic," talked to in a demeaning way, and finally let go after providing a SS number.
