Hi all,
We are considering having our daughter try out for a usl academy team. We don’t know a lot about usl. We have seen its growing. Do any of you know much about usl? Please explain it to us. If it would be a good move, our daughter wants to play in university. Thanks |
We don't have a USL academy team in the DMV. I would suggest you find a board that is in the area. |
| Are you talking about USL-Y? Like SuperY? |
Yes, I read Buffalo now has one. |
|
USL-Y is just summer soccer. It's hot, it is inconsistent & rosters are large. They disband as soon as the summer is over. Also, if your team makes it to nation playoffs in the winter, the Club coach does not have to take your kid. You can get bumped in favor of stronger kids within their Club team.
But, you can meet other players and other coaches and get some games and practices in over the summer. |
| If you are in the DC Area, there are a million USL-Y teams. Pick the one closest to you. It will cost about $700, average two trainings a week and 8ish games over the summer. Half will get cancelled for the heat |
Which ones still need players? |
