How Does NCS Stack Up With Elite NYC Girls' Schools?

My family will be moving to NYC next year. My daugther is in 7th and we are hoping to move her to Spence, Brearley, or Nightingale in NYC. Does NCS stack up well academically with those schools?

I imagine NCS would be great preparation for any of them! I could be wrong, but isn't kindergarten the only true entry year for those schools? You can definitely apply for 7th (or 9th), but are available spaces based only on attrition?

yes, it's just as rigorous if not more so. College admissions are not as good because the student body at NCS is far less connected than those at the top NYC privates. There are only a very tiny number of NCS students who are the children of VIPs.

Something for OP to keep in mind is that colleges compare applicants against their peers at the same school. Your daughter will actually be moving into a more competitive applicant pool unless your family has some impressive hooks.

If you are fine with non Ivy, the college matriculation below that is completely consistent with NCS.

You are trolling. More than half going to top 25 colleges. The rest mostly to top 40. Great results!
