Carpenter ants in new mulch…

We had some landscaping done and since the day they finished, I have seen two or three giant black ants that look like carpenter ants running through the mulch they put down. I smashed them.

How worried should I be about this? Is Seeing one or two cause to put down a bunch of poison? Can anyone recommend a certain treatment? I can’t find any sort of mound or place that they seem to be generating from. My siding is aluminum so maybe that is good.

Do you have a regular perimeter pest service? Get one. They can climb up and under siding.

That’s why I don’t outsource the mulching.
I’ve been using Bayer Ant treatment on our perimeter and under the containers. It works.

They are strays and will die off from exhaustion after aimless wandering try to find their original nest.
