Trump dismisses all voting rights cases, defunds DOJ division.

His administration doesn't believe that your right to vote is worth defending.

Are we autocratic yet?

The voting rights cases were ones challenging state laws on election security.

He is such a dummy. The new head of the civil division is already saying that she is running out of attorneys. She wants to hire new attorneys that will be on board with her new mission - but she's not going to be able to. No one wants to touch this DOJ or this administration.

In two years, the midterms are going to destroy the GOP, as they know. Possibly for a very very long time.

And now he signed an EO putting military troops on the streets of US cities concurrent with shelves are going to be empty. What could go wrong?

These are some of the new priorities of the "Civil Rights" division:

*Combating Antisemitism: Addressing antisemitic incidents, particularly those related to pro-Palestinian protests.

*Protecting Women's Sports: Implementing policies to limit transgender athletes' participation in women's sports.

*Addressing Perceived Anti-Christian Bias: Investigating instances of alleged discrimination against Christian individuals and organizations.

*Challenging Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Programs: Scrutinizing and litigating against DEI initiatives in educational institutions and corporations, viewing them as discriminatory.

And here are organizational changes involved in the shifting of the focus away from civil rights:

*Dismissal of Voting Rights Cases: All active voting rights cases have been dropped, and senior career managers in the voting rights section have been removed.

*Freezing of Civil Rights Litigation: A temporary halt has been placed on filing new civil rights complaints, amicus briefs, or other court papers.

*Rescission of Executive Order 11246: This order, which prohibited federal contractors from engaging in employment discrimination and mandated affirmative action programs, has been revoked.

*Removal of Protections Against Segregated Facilities: The "Prohibition of Segregated Facilities" clause has been eliminated from federal contracts.

*Exclusion of Gender Identity as a Protected Category: Federal regulations and contracting policies no longer recognize gender identity as a protected category.

They should focus on Minneapolis for their next case:

“While racial identity and age are not appropriate grounds for departures [from the Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines], proposed resolutions should consider the person charged as a whole person, including their racial identity and age. While these factors should not be controlling, they should be part of the overall analysis. Racial disparities harm our community, lead to distrust, and have a negative impact on community safety. Prosecutors should be identifying and addressing racial disparities at decision points, as appropriate,” one section of the policy states.
