Fl girls trip

Trying to plan a girls trip mid July. Flying from DC and Philly. For 3 nights, we are considering Amelia Island, Rosemary Beach, Siesta Key. Looking for nice beach, somewhat walkable nice town for dinners out, a bit of nightlife but nothing crazy. I know it’ll be hot but hoping we can spend our days in the water.

I love HOllywood Beach

Yes to Siesta Key or Lido Beach off Sarasota

Water quality in summer in Florida is a problem

100% Rosemary or elsewhere on 30A over Amelia Island. Amelia is very resort-centric, so if you want walkable etc 30A is much cuter.

I love Siesta Key area. But I haven't been in the summer.

Florida in JULY? Sounds miserable.

I’ll throw out St Augustine over Amelia island.

Why not Palm Beach? It really is perfect for a girls trip. Stay at the breakers- it will be much cheaper in the summer. The restaurants and shopping are amazing. You can’t beat it.

My vote is Palm Beach, Longboat Key (Sarasota) or Clearwater Beach.

Florida in July is hot but perfectly fine as you’re at the beach, cool off in the pool and ocean.

Another fun place would be Hilton Head.

OP here - Palm Beach is our first choice. The Colony Hotel looks perfect for a girls trip! However, we are worried about sargassum on the beach in July. Has anyone been that time of year?

Florida resident here- sargassum could happen at any beach at anytime, so it’s hard to predict. Unfortunately, it’s a reality of life now- from the Caribbean to cape cod to anywhere else.

The Colony is awesome and beautiful, but IMHO the breakers really can’t be beat. The history, beauty, pools, beach and spa are so much better. The colony is not on the beach and the pool is small. I’d suggest staying at the breakers, having cocktails at the colony and eating at La Goulou or one of the other fabulous restaurants. Also, the Breakers stay includes a beautiful breakfast in the stunning ballroom. Trust me. You can walk everywhere, but the hotel has a free car service if you don’t want to get sweaty.
