I’m a 40 something makeup minimalist who grew up with “the trick to makeup is making it look like you’re not wearing makeup”. To this day, if I ask my mom “what do you think of this mascara” she says “well I can tell you’re wearing mascara”.

My typical routine is very light coverage tinted moisturizer, blush, a swipe of neutral shadow, mascara, maybe a touch of eyeliner if I’m feeling ambitious. A neutral lip on a regular day, a brighter color for getting dressed up.

It looks totally fine, but I’d love to play around a bit more. Any good video creators out there for more mature folks who aren’t looking for full glam?

I don't really think it's possible to wear makeup without being able to tell. Maybe men, but I can tell when most women are wearing makeup even if it's subtle/natural.
