I just had a group of 7/8 year olds girls twerk in front of me

Who is teaching them this? I went out eat at a pizza place and there was a group of girls softball players eating out with their coach and parents presumably after a game. We all ended up leaving at the same time and as I was pulling out of the parking lot 5 of the girls got in front of my car and began twerking and showing off their behinds laughing. Parent said nothing but laughed. Who is parenting these kid?!

My 8 year old son dances like that too. Not sure where it's coming from, because I sure can't twerk.

Kids love to shake their butts and laugh about it. This has been going on long before twerking existed.

Shaking your butt is also just a normal dance move.

Sure, but the kids were in a parking lot, not a nightclub.

You should be glad they weren't smoking pot these days.

I was waiting outside a Starbucks and I heard a mom with too kids exclaim: “smells like pot. Mommy loves pot”. I wouldn’t be surprised if the kids are given how nonchalant this woman was.

The people I knew who grew up with loose parents like this turned out in either of two ways -

total failure to launch
-or-
utterly conservative (their form of rebellion against such parents)

I saw older girls doing this at the end of their ballet class while younger girls were waiting to enter the room for the start of their class.

A lot of the world is not brought up with refined values and behavior expectations.

I’d be far more concerned if 7 year old girls were in a nightclub.

It could be older siblings or girls whom they are around. They may not understand the sexual connotation. And perhaps the parents were trying to be chill instead of screaming at their daughters in a parking lot. Hopefully they will train them out of it at home.

lol being able to launch (being a cog in capitalistic machine) and being woke are overrated.

I don’t see why this is a big deal. My only concern is that they were in a parking lot, which seems unsafe. They were dancing, for heaven’s sake.
