I think OP was trying to refer to “funk” as “Brazillian funk”, either way still it is very distinct from actual phonk. Phonk itself has just a huge resurgence among young teenagers and TikTok.

It pleases my ears, but not my brain. Like, I shouldn't like this... but I mostly do. The track in pp's comment is way better; I think I'm too old for mangos at this point

I don't understand the hype. One time my son was scrolling onto TikTok and he showed me this picture of what looked like a deformed version of that iconic troll face but except it looked more dark red, had a more realistic face, and eyes that looked like they were about to pop. I don't know if I have an example, but from a screenshot he showed me, those things look absolutely hideous. Apparently, this is so called for those edits that make kids act like they are a "sigma" per what my DS says...it's just confusing..
