Last night an email was received from Fitzgerald Auto Malls informing me of a data breach that happened almost 15 months ago. "Immediately taking steps" didn't include informing affected customers until well over a year later. Also, it's very disappointing that Fitzgerald Auto Malls isn't offering crediting monitoring, which seems to be the norm with these all-too-common data breaches. Basically, Fitzgerald Auto Malls is telling its customers that we're on our own. |
| I had to research this a little. The breach occured on Feb 4 2024 but Fitz had no idea the criminals were in their systems until 3/28/25. So for more than a year attackers had access to customer info. |
| I got this letter too. It’s particularly frustrating because they had access to our drivers licenses as well as other information needed in purchasing a car. |
