Text reaction meaning

When you respond to a text message with the reaction “!!” what is your intent? I ask because most people I know use it as a reaction like “whoa“ or “wow“ but a few other people use it in ways that don’t seem appropriate in that way. It’s almost like they mean ditto.

I have one friend that uses this.

If other friends use it, it’s like a surprise to a negative thing.

This friend, though, uses it for a lot more. Trying to think… like a positive surprise, such as “we had 15 people sign up. That’s a little above average so that’s good” and the react: !!

But since I know this about her, it’s not too shocking.

Me clarifying. Other people use it negatively or a funny surprise.

“We had a 5.2 earthquake.” !!
“Someone broke into our house.” !!
“Fido stole a whole jar of peanut butter again. Silly guy” !!

She uses it more often than that. Again, it’s all good.

I use it to say "hell yeah, I agree".

I use it to denote shock, usually in a negative way. For positive things, I use the thumbs up or heart.

It's just emphatic. Are you scared, WOW that's scary. Did you win a tournament, AMAZING Eggs are 13$ OMG THAT SUCKS SHOCKING

This is just my personal opinion but I take it as a surprised 😱 reaction or comment.
