We are looking to take a vacation in early December, and we'd love to do one of those all-inclusive places, but we're having trouble finding something that seems right. We are looking for a domestic or international destination that's close to a beach and has pool access and some kind of indoor play area for our 2-year-old twins. We also need three bedrooms: one for us, one for the kids, and one for our nanny. So far, we've only been able to find 2-bedroom, which leaves our dear nanny bunking with the babies--not much fun for her! The kids' programs also seem to all be for older kids. We don't need them to babysit our kids--that's why we have the nanny along--but we'd like to know there is something fun for the kids to do indoors in case the weather doesn't work for a beach. Any suggestions?
Let me know what you come up with-we are looking for a similiar situation. I have to say that I am a little leery of anything that is all inclusive--seems that the food is never great. I have heard that Jamica has a number of nice properties.
Well, as you can see, few people seem to have recommendations. Part of our interest in the all-inclusive is that we will all be eating at different times: we'd probably feed the kids, then nanny would go eat by herself, then DH and I would eat together after we got the kids down for bed. It's also easier for us, I think, because my kids are very adventurous eaters (knock on wood), so as long as there's a salad bar, I know we can find things for them, but, judging by my friends, most parents of toddlers would need more flexibility.
I think for a 3 bedroom you may have to look at condos/houses, or for renting a "villa" at a resort. In this day and age travel agents would seem unnecessary, but on this occasion you may want to look into one.
For two year olds, it's hard to find indoor play areas..most of the kids camps start at three. But..if you have a nanny with you, she can take them on adventures on a beach just fine..I have done that before. One thing to consider at certain resorts..even if they aren't all inclusive, you can sometimes get someone to go food shopping for "kids stuff" to have at you room-I did this at Sea Island and it was amazing. I love Sea Island but am thinking it will be too cold in December--think you need to go to south florida or an island.
I just found this resort..boca resort in Boca Raton Florida..it's a Waldorf Astoria property. It has two bedroom bungalows with kitchens and you can get the congierge to arrange someone to stock your bungalow with kid approved food. Just a thought because it looks just beautiful with a lot of fun things to do for little people and big people.
