One of MAGA's arguments for bit immigration crackdown and the imposition of tariffs is that it will help reduce the flow of fentanyl into the US and consequently reduce the number of deaths. Fair enough. Fentanyl is a scourge and all kidding aside we have needed to so something about it. So I am pleased that this seems to be on the radar.

But please tell me how eliminating the NARCAN program will help achieve the goal of reducing opioid deaths? Isn't it the case that there have been police officers who have been exposed during the course of arrests who required NARCAN?

The only thing fentanyl exposure does to certain police officers is induce a panic attack. There is no evidence people can overdose from skin contact. Fentanyl gets used daily in every hospital emergency department in America.
