To what extent does pop culture or media influence your personal decisions and lifestyle choices?

I find this intriguing especially in the context of romantic love and marriages. When I watch TikTok for example and there are clips or memes of popular fictional film or tv couples, and there is a horde of young women commenting saying, "this or nothing!" or "may this love never find me!"
Even still the glamorization of certain romantic couples...Jim and Pam...Rachel and Ross...the endless analysis of Carrie and Big... Are we simply analyzing pop culture or...using these fictional examples to actively influence our own personal decisions? |
