Trump takes executive action targeting ActBlue, the main Democratic fundraising platform

Three months in and he is already trying to take down the opposition party.

President Donald Trump signed an executive memorandum Thursday aimed at investigating ActBlue, the leading Democratic fundraising platform.
The memorandum directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to “investigate allegations regarding the unlawful use of online fundraising platforms to make 'straw' or 'dummy' contributions or foreign contributions to political candidates and committees, and to take appropriate action to enforce the law."

What this means is Trump’s platform is rife with fraud and dummy donations.

I once pulled a file pro-trump donations from the FEC and it was filled with names of people who donated well over the legal limit.

NP. Both ActBlue and Trump’s fundraising are corrupt and filled with people who exploit the elderly. They are both awful.

I had to unwind my father-in-law from ActBlue after his death. What I found felt like it crossed the line into exploitation of the elderly. The terrifying texts and emails, the ease of setting up recurring donations, the impossibility of stopping those: in looking through everything, it was clear to me that the organization knew they’d found a mark in a sweet old vulnerable man, and they were relentless. They extracted thousands from him, money he needed.

I’m sure the Trump platform is as bad, but I don’t think there are going to be a lot of people other than extreme Democratic partisans upset by this.
