| Has anyone had experience with Nike summer swim camps at various universities in this area? Are they good for year‑round swimmers (with club and summer swim‑team practices in the summer) who would like to refine their technique and improve their times? Are there any other good camps of this type in the area or is it better to take private lessons? TIA |

My 13 year old daughter went to the Nike Swim Camp last summer Johns Hopkins. We went into it with very little to go on, very few reviews and we didn't know anyone who had gone.
It was her first sleep away camp and she wanted to experience a college campus/dorm. She's a decent swimmer, some A times more BB times. She's mostly a freestyle and back stroker. Breast stroke was just getting by. When I came to pick her up on the last day her breast stroke was the most beautiful I'd ever seen it. She also became really good friends with the other 3 girls in her suite. I believe the same Head Coach (Coach Marge) will be running it out of UMD this summer. It was a mix of kids, some super fast, some average and some who could barely make it across the pool. She was really great with all of them and my daughter liked her a lot. I'd recommend this camp to anyone considering it. |
Thank you! This is very helpful! |
