| Has anybody used or considering Harvard Student Agencies for College app and essays. Seems to be run by Harvard students and way cheaper than professionals. |
| The issue would be that students at an elite college may have zero idea what was so great about their essays that they were admitted. They have expertise neither in college admissions nor in how to help a 17 year old edit their essays without inadvertently removing/reducing the student's voice. |
They do have access to their application after being admitted and have seen the feedback correct |
It is rare for students to pursue application notes. Nor does seeing the notes make them an expert at college essays or understanding why they were admitted. |
| My son was admitted to Harvard REA and received an email from one of the admissions counselors specifically saying what they loved about him. So, even my son who hasn’t get accepted his spot could offer guidance. I’m sure most Harvard students have looked at their files. |
| * hasn’t yet accepted |
Every Harvard student I know looks at their admission file as soon as they get to school. |
| I wouldn’t because I don’t think that they would honor confidentiality the same way. Whose to say they wouldn’t take some of the ideas from your students essays and reuse them for some other student. They are kids after all. Very risky imo. |
| No, my kids did their own. |
LOL, no, most Harvard students are too busy to be bothered with this sort of thing. |
This thread sounds like an advertisement. |
No it is not. Asking because they have a 15% off offer which expires today to buy hours with them for really low price while professionals are 4 times more expensive. Just thinking from value perspective. |
What did the admissions counselors say? What was the GPA and test scores if ok to tell |
Right, that doesn't sound like an advertisement at all. |
Why will a Harvard student come to dcurbanmom to sell some services? Don't understand your thinking. |
