| Are there particular clubs with reputations for being the best at developing goalies? Found some old posts here and looks like Fairfax has a dedicated keeper coach? Do all clubs have that? |
| Most all of the clubs have a goalie coach. They'll be listed on club websites |
| None. They will all tell you they do, but most goalies improve from individual private training. |
| The problem is that none of them have dedicated coaches to do it. They all coach the goalkeepers as a small part of roles with the clubs. They are probably told they need to train the GKs 1-2 times per week and then go off and do other stuff for the club. It is not a vested interest in the player. |
It depends on the level. The top level teams (ECNL/GA/MLSN) have a dedicated goalkeeper coach and specialized training. As you go down levels it's less or none. |

Barca Academy used to!!!
Dedicated goalie training top notch. I saw them lay out tarps and keep hoses on them to get used to slippery conditions and all kinds of stuff (I don't have a goalie )
I have never seen a club train goalies so targeted or as well as they did. |
This was our experience. The goalie coaching from the club was subpar and very little in the way of time spent training either. Our DD was a goalie and worked with private goalie trainers during the years she played. |
