Interstate Medical Transport

A friend will require this, to transfer hospitals. It is way too far to drive.

Does anyone know a good company and/or who arranges it (insurance company? Sending hospital? Receiving hospital?)

Will ths hospital or social worker provide referrals? This seems tricky to just wing it on recommendations.

When we needed this, the hospital social worker helped to arrange the transportation.

When you say way too far to drive, you mean just for family/private vehicle to manage? Or so far it need to be by air? For flights, your friend needs to start by asking the medical team if they can fly commercial or if they will need an air ambulance.

But yes, the hospital social worker is probably already on it.

Thanks. . It is a 16 hour drive and the patient is too too sick for that. They need supportive care at the ready.
