| Does anyone have feedback on this location? My DC will turn 15 during next season. I think they’d be in the top group. Thanks in advance! |
| It's a small location with very limited training sessions. The top group, Gold AM, is pretty full with only 3-4 graduating this summer. Unless your child has really fast times, they will probably be put in Gold Prep, which is in the afternoons. |
Thanks. Any feedback on the quality of the coaching in both groups, culture, results, etc.? Would you recommend it? A change would be a big deal for my swimmer, so I want to make sure it’s worth it for them. They have Futures cuts, sounds like that’s not fast enough for AM? |
I don’t have a swimmer there but I can tell you a Futures level swimmer is definitely fast enough for the top group. For whatever reason people like to act like no other kid could possibly fit in a group, but room will always be made for a Futures level swimmer, especially one that is only 15. |
| I’ve heard good things about Tysons. I would look at some meet results and make sure there are swimmers close in age that are also close in times. Tyson has solid coaches but make sure there is a good core group of kids to train with. |
Agree. Not sure if your swimmer is male or female but they have a great group of girls. |
| With futures cuts, your kid should fit right into their top group. You can also email the site coaches- jeremy and/or john- and ask to try out a practice. |
Is John at Tysons or Marymount?? |
Marymount now. |
The practices are there, but the group he coaches is technically classified as Tysons Gold PM. |
Not sure this is correct |
Not anymore |

This must have changed recently. The group is still listed in the Tysons practice schedule for this season, and John is in the coaching staff list for the site. |
| OP. Thanks, all. So there is no longer an AM group at Tysons? We are outside the beltway, so couldn’t swing MU, unfortunately. |
