How did this even happen?(SSFS)

This all feels so out of nowhere to me. It was just another school day for my daughter, and then we find out her school is shutting down? And is fifteen million dollars in debt? I just...what??

Does anyone have insight as to how it got this bad, this fast? Are we sure of the exact amount of the debt or how it got to that point? And do other private schools (Green Acres, Barrie, etc.) seem in danger of the same fate? Thank you all, much love to the SSFS teachers/staff who are now out of a job ❤️
