How frequently are most Nannies paid?

One a week? One every two weeks? What is standard?

Weekly.

we have had (the same) nanny for many years. Asked her at the beginning if every two weeks worked (because it was easier/less work for me); she said it was fine and it has been like that ever since.

I run the payroll every two weeks (via a service, but I still need to approve it/add mileage as necessary, etc). As an employer, every two weeks is much easier. If your nanny is open to that, go for it.

Weekly is standard but whatever you agree upon

What does it matter what others do?

You reach an agreement with YOUR nanny.

We do twice a month.

I don’t understand why anyone objects to paying a nanny weekly. Is that what this is about, OP? Your nanny asked to be paid weekly and you don’t want to?

Weekly. And I pay her for the immediate week. A slight pain when her hours change bc I have to run payroll numbers and change the amount withholding. But since she usually works a flat 40 hours, it’s typically the same amount each week.

You ask your nanny. You also should know that a nanny is a human being not a robot. Treat her accordingly.

Most Nannies prefer to be paid weekly - typically on Fridays (or whatever is their last day of work for the wk.)
