Parking near Friendship Heights Metro?

Anonymous
There's no park & ride lot. Tons of street parking but I think it's all zoned (on both the DC and MD sides) and I live in the Ward 4, not Ward 3 (DC side) and of course there isn't a reliable bus line where I live.

Any recommendations? If I have to pay a lot to park near the metro, I might as well drive to the office, but would prefer to start taking metro.

The private garages are $$$.
Looking at Spot Hero, this one came up as "best value"

5307 Friendship Blvd. - The Shops at Wisconsin Place

I used to park at Woodies back in the day and at least get 2 hrs. free parking if I'd go downtown. The lack of WMATA-operated parking at FH metro makes it less appealing for sure!

If you don't mind a little walking, there is a block of 47th between Fessenden and Western that is not permitted. This is the west side of Fort Bayard park. I see MD plates there all the time.

Since you’re driving to the Friendship Heights Metro station, are there other areas with more readily available parking that you could just as easily drive to instead? You might want to compare FH with Bethesda, which has multiple County lots near the station. Also, there are multiple lots nearby, including two on Jenifer Street and one where Whole Foods is. There may be discounted Parking if you park or leave by designated times.

OP: thanks so much for the suggestions. It’s such a shame with all of the vacant surface parking nearby, that it can’t be utilized (lookin g at you former Lord & Taylor parking lot). If I have to drive for more than ten minutes to find the parking, I may as well just drive downtown (financially it’s about break even since I get subsidized parking at the office: it’s just a pain to drive so I’d like to take metro more often). They don’t make it easy! (For me at least - I realize it’s there to serve the masses)

I should add in nicer weather I’ve ridden a bike or walked - I’m just about 1.5 miles. It’s just a little far with a laptop and lunch in tow, or when it gets dark early - the drivers around here are nuts.
