Protecting the American People Against Invasion

The title is the name of the EO signed by Trump on Jan. 20th. At this point I can't even keep up with his EOs, and I hadn't heard of this.

All aliens 18 years of age and over in the United States required to register under INA 262, including but not limited to those who register using this new process, must carry and have in their personal possession evidence of their registration at all times.

Criminal Penalties for Failure to Carry Evidence of Registration

Any alien required to register who is 18 years of age and older and who fails to comply with the requirement that they carry evidence of registration, and have in their personal possession evidence of registration will be guilty of a misdemeanor and will upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $5,000 or be imprisoned not more than 30 days, or both.

This sounds like an updated Yellow Star to me.

You don't carry ID with you? I seldom go anywhere without my driver's license.

You don't get arrested if you forget your ID at home.

PP. And, now that I think about it, I lived in Germany for years and almost always carried my passport.

This is in no way comparable to a yellow star.

Well, you do if you're driving and pulled over.

Arrested? No unless you truly do not have a license to drive whatsoever. You are not typically arrested if you have a license and forget it at home.

They aren't asking for driver's licenses. And no, you do not have to carry proof of your identity or lawful status when you are going about daily tasks. That's not a valid comparison. Neither is keeping a passport with you if you are visiting another country; it isn't legally required and you can't be picked up off the street at any time without it. Now add to that the fact that US citizens don't walk around with their passports at all times when they actually live/work in another country.

The INA requires that, with limited exceptions, all aliens 14 years of age or older who were not registered and fingerprinted (if required) when applying for a U.S. visa and who remain in the United States for 30 days or longer, must apply for registration and fingerprinting. Similarly, parents and legal guardians of aliens below the age of 14 must ensure that those aliens are registered. Within 30 days of reaching his or her 14th birthday, all previously registered aliens must apply for re-registration and to be fingerprinted.

Once an alien has registered and appeared for fingerprinting (unless waived), DHS will issue evidence of registration, which aliens over the age of 18 must carry and keep in their personal possession at all times.

Teens are 'children' when they belong to white citizens. They are potentially dangerous and must be fingerprinted and carry special papers when they are not.

Not typically, but it does happen. Officers have discretion.

You also don't just get arrested if you don't have ID. Officers must have reasonable, articulable suspicion of a crime. Absent that, they can ask for ID but you don't have to give it unless you live in a stop and ID state.

Most, if not sll, Jewish families were citizens of Germany when they were forced to wear that star.

This has been the law since 1940. Trump is the only one to enforce it since the 50s or 60s though.

Source?
Because if it was already the law, why would he need an EO?

He throws EOs out like paper towels. Can’t wait till they all combust.

Seldom is not the same as never. Why are you carrying water for your own oppressor? Trump is an authoritarian who doesn’t give a crap about you or our laws and here you are making excuses for him.

Ever been to China? Yes, you do have to keep your passport with you wherever you go, you also have to give it to every hotel you go to, they have to call it in to the communist party they track you. You have to give them your travel itinerary, before you go.
