Is there a way to have BGE recheck the electric meter meter or the bill?

So our bill seems to be climbing up by a lot especially when the last two months we are not wfh anymore and have the thermostat set accordingly.
We got a 800 bill for the last month even though the weather isn’t too bad and we are not using as much as we would have otherwise. Even the coldest winter months, we get about 550 max.

Is it possible the meter is running too fast? I can’t seem to figure out.

I take it you have checked actual usage?

Have you compared bill year over year?

Did your utility get approved for a rate increase recently?

Did you switch or get automatically converted to an unusual pricing plan? Time of Day plan? Leveled charges over a year plan?

Could your thermostat be broken?

Is anyone near you tapping into your power line?

Do you have a "Smart Meter"?

I don't have your same power company, but it is usually possible to request an onsite check. It may cost you money if they come inside your house (usually they are responsible only for the meter and anything outside).

Not entirely sure about this, but have heard about residential meters you can install on your side of the power company's meter, before your breaker box, to keep tabs on usage.

Might want to look into that. Wouldn't be cheap, perhaps $500 alone for the install, but might be worth it.

Are they doing readings or estimating.
You can get them to read and check. Look on the back of your bill or online.
