New theories of UFO's relating to spirituality

Anonymous
I am a Catholic but I am also a very open minded person.

I have been reading the work of Diana Pasulka. She is a professor of religious studies. She believes that what people have experienced as contact with angels might have been what we call UFO's. Check out her work for a much more thorough explanation.

Many educated people, scientists and mathematicians, are beginning to consider some of these experiences as cross dimensional.

I know this all goes against a lot of faith based beliefs but I am left questioning.

Are any other spiritual people on here aware of these ideas? What do you think?

I also want to add that there is a man named Chris Bledsoe who has had encounters with orbs. People from NASA and the CIA have developed a relationship with him. This is documented. He says the orbs are spiritual.

I am just left with questions. Curious what others think.

Are you only interested in hearing from "spiritual" people? Why? especially if scientists and mathematicians are considering some of these experiences? Many scientists and mathematicians are not spiritual at all.

I was five when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. I remember wondering if they would pass heaven on the way to the moon or maybe hell and if they would be able to peer down and tell us what they saw. In the Middle Ages when doctors began dissecting dead bodies to learn about anatomy one of the things they were looking to find was the soul. Some people thought it was near your brain, others your heart. We have always sought to reconcile faith and science and to use one to find out about the other.

Agreed. But in the case of Bledsoe he believes it is spiritual. So the scientific community that has developed a relationship with him, I would assume they see a bit of that side.

I am honestly approaching all of this with an open mind and skepticism too. I am just curious what others who do have spiritual beliefs think.

There is a part of me that wonders if the idea of God does come from beings from another dimension as some of these people are claiming.

The universe is so vast and our understanding is so limited.

I am Catholic too and thought about the same thing. Some of the encounters, described in bible sound exactly like UFO to me. Like the way the person would describe UFO if they were living at the times when they didn’t know what spaceship or airplane or even car is.

Why do you think that you need to be spiritual to think that there might be truth to the concept of visitors from outer space? It's advanced science that got them here, if indeed they have been here.

Mental health issues happen among
religious and spiritual people too.

OP really means "I am a Catholic but not a very good one." Good Catholics only believe in Catholic dogma.

I’ve found the podcast Blurry Creatures fascinating — they talk about aliens and UFOs. They approach all sorts of paranormal topics from a Christian perspective.

Dr. Michael Heiser’s work on YouTube is also a great deep dive.

Yes, OP, we saw the documentary Signs.

I highly recommend the late scholar Michael Heiser's books (and videos). But I disagree with you about Blurry Creatures. It doesn't make Christians appear credible if they're debating if mermaids are real.

I've seen an angel.

It wasn't a UFO. Or an alien.

FFS, it wasn't that "they didn't know what [a] spaceship ... or even [a] car is." Those things didn't exist.
