Piping bags?

I'm making my daughter's birthday cake this month and need to purchase some piping bags and tips to do fun designs. I recall that someone on here once recommended the easiest-to-use type of bags, but I cannot for the life of me find the thread. Any suggestions? In the past I've just bought plain Wilton bags and tips but it was so messy.
