Infertility Support and Discussion

How do you date an IVF pregnancy? I've heard inconsistant dates from my RE's office. Does the ER count as ovulation? What about if my blasts took an extra day to develop?
I had my egg retrieval on 8-13, fertilization by the next day, and a 6-day transfer on 8-19... I'm just thrilled to be pregnant on the one hand but now that the worrying has set in again I want to know exactely where I am in my pregnancy as I have more tests, etc... |
Yup, ER is equivalent to ovulation day. The rest doesn't matter.
Thanks, PP. Even if you know that your embryos took an "extra" day (beyond the typical) to develop into blasts?
Yup, because it's all really an estimate anyway. 1 day makes no difference at all. They could catch up and surge ahead at any time.
Thanks! I'm ahead of myself but I already anticipate a "you need to be induced" issue given my past pregnancy so I'd like to be extra sure I get everyday 'in.' And, I'm totally freaked out by all the "one day in either direction makes a difference" on test x,y,z so that's the other reason I really want to know. I know given how hard it's been for us to get where we are I really like knowing exactely when each one-week milestone is passed.
yup - give the LMP as 14 days prior to ER
Congratulations!
Thanks!!
Oh that is so funny! I had my FET transfer the same day - 8/17. I've been told my due date is 5/7 so hope that is helpful to you. I don't know if you can date fresh IVF and FET the same way, but either way congratulations and best of luck to you!

Thanks. The transfer was actually 8-19. The OB set my due date as May 6.
Congrats to you. |
