The final death knell for the “fiscally responsible” party.
I never want to hear another word from the GOP about our debt or the deficit. The most fiscally irresponsible party. What a bunch of posers. With the budget approved, the way is open for a follow-on package to cut taxes by up to $5.3 trillion over a decade and raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, in exchange for $4 billion in spending cuts. Republicans can now pass Trump’s tax-cut agenda solely on GOP votes, bypassing the need for negotiations with Democrats. Reagan was the first to really balloon the national debt. The rest of the Republicans have continued in that vein, even though they lie and say they’re the party of fiscal responsibility. Although with Trump at the head of our government, no one is accusing Republicans of being responsible anymore. |
