I’m making a new playlist and looking for unusual cover songs. Here are a few I have so far:
Billie Jean - Chris Cornell The Ghost in You - Counting Crows This Must Be the Place - Walk the Moon Dreams - Dani Faye Running Up That Hill - Jon Bryant Sara Smile - Joan Osborne Jolene - Maneskin Heart-Shaped Box - Nate Smith |
I like Passion Pit’s cover of The Cranberries’ “Dreams” better than the original. I like the original just fine . . . right up to the wailing at the end. |
Girl Crush by Harry Styles |
Korn’s version of Word Up! |
Boys of Summer. All Along the Watchtower. |
Hozier's cover of Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" is fantastic. You have to be familiar with the original to appreciate just how unique Hozier's take is. The cover is so funky and fun for what was originally a sad song.
Miley Cyrus does great covers - Zombie, Like a Prayer |
Taylor Swift's cover of Tom Petty's "American Girl". Love it. |
Maggie Rogers's cover of "Tim McGraw" |
Father John Misty’s cover of The Suburbs by Arcade Fire |
REM—Superman
UB40—Cherry Oh Baby Cake—War Pigs William Shatner—Common People Faith No More—Easy Cindy Lauper—Money Changes Everything |
Sleeping at Last has a very sedate, stripped down cover of 500 Miles by The Proclaimers. |
I still love Adam Lambert's cover of Mad World. |
Sinead O’Conner- Nothing compares 2 U |
ohhhh yes |
❤️ one of my favorites Chris Stapleton does this one right, too. |
