We are trying to decide where to spend 3 days in July with our two teens 17 and 13. Thanks. |
San Diego.

+1 I'm headed to SB, but it's to see a friend who's lived there for decades. I used to go see my friend often when I lived in LA. It's pretty, but not that exciting. Also, water is colder up there. SD water and weather are warmer. |
San Diego (and I’m a Santa Barbara native) |
Some fun activities for teens in and near Santa Barbara that our family enjoyed: biking Cabrillo trail to Butterfly Beach, surfing at Ventura Beach, hiking and sea kayaking at Channel Islands NP, visiting Lotusland in Montecito, camping at El Capitan Canyon. |
I've only been once a long time ago but Santa Barbara is kinda small isn't it? Probably wouldn't entertain teens for 3 days unless the point was to take it slow and have low-key family time |
My teen boy loved our vacation to San Diego. |
SB for surw |
We had an awesome 3 days in San Diego. We went shopping in old town San Diego, did the zoo (went at night) the children’s beach to see sea lions, Coronado island, a museum and a padres game. If you ask my teen what the best part was he’d say massive burritos from Humberto’s 😂
I’m not sure if we got lucky but traffic was not bad at all so we were able to do a lot! |
My teens had a great time in SD with us. Zoo, Sea lions, a museum in La Jolla, the navy ship, Pacific beach, dinners in Little Italy. |
We were in San Diego for 4 days with a teen and a tween and it was great. |
Was going to post similar. My family incl teen/college kids prefer SB to SD. |
Take them to Black's Beach in SD. They will remember it forever. |
