Clinic or Doctor Recommendations

Anonymous
I have frozen embryos. My doctor at this clinic is really pushing me to do an ERA and I really do not know if it is necessary or just selling a product. Does anyone have a recommendation of a doctor who could give a second opinion on ERA’s? Ideally I don’t want to transfer clinics but my doctor is not giving me a compelling reason to do an ERA or perhaps he is not good at explaining. I really would like to hear it from someone who can explain the logic to me better than this doctor. A lot of what I read online tells me it is almost experimental and just the add-on nature of IVF and associated testing without much data has me on guard already.

Do you have previous failed transfers?

I would ask your doctor to explain clearly why this test is recommended for you. There is data that it’s not helpful in the general population.

“In the end, a detailed and thoughtful analysis reaches a very simple and direct conclusion. The ERA has no value in screening the general ART population. ”

The Columbia Fertility office was terrible in 2019 and far worse in 2022. I took my file and left and they still owe me like $75 they overcharged me. Hopefully they are better now but their billing practices were odd. I never got charged copays or anything the day of and then randomly I would have to make payments for other appointments. They had a fertility partner and they didn’t remit payment to them so I got a bill and had to pay twice then fight for the $75 back. They said they mailed the check twice. I left, got pregnant, and was happy enough to be done with them I gave up.

I conceived in 2021/delivered fall 2022 and was so frustrated with their administration near the end that I did a consult with sgf but learned I was pregnant a few days after. I returned in 2023/2024 for more treatment and the administration was much better as they finally had electronic medical record... the whole time Preston Sacks was amazing and have 2 kids thanks to him

I also am a patient of Preston Sacks and think he's one of the best REs in the area. He'd be great for a second opinion.

Wow in May 2023 they still had paper. Left but found Dr. Sacks to be good.
