| Hi! Please help recommend a book for me. I'm looking for a fun book you know sort of like the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy, but that takes place in Europe. Thank you! |
| Fredrick Bachman books are fun. I like Sophie Cousens but they are romance. |
|
The Pairing by Casey McQuiston
One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle |
|
There are a bunch set in Paris and France. Google novels set in Paris.
But CRA is so much about getting a peek into an insider world. A Roman a clef. Maybe you'd like Bringing Home the Birkin. Starts in Barcelona and then he flies all over Europe. |
| A fun romance set in Paris is Anna and the French Kiss. |
|
I like the Scottish bookshop series by Jenny Colgan
I also enjoy all books by Kate Morton, she tends to set hers in castles and historic houses in the UK. |
| Kevin Kwans newest (?) book is partially set in England btw! Main characters are named Rufus and Eden. Actually a fun remake of Trollope’s Dr Thorne |
| A Year in Provence Peter Mayle and the sequel, Toujours Provence. |
| I really liked A Year in the Merde (set in Paris, clearly.) Really funny. |
| It’s a memoir, and from 2009, but “I’ll Never Be French (no matter what I do)” by Mark Greenside was an enjoyable read about moving to Brittany despite knowing nothing about the language or culture. |
|
I loved You Are Here by David Nicholls. It's about a man and a woman who meet on a walking trip in the English countryside.

|
I just started Guncle Abroad. Set, so far, in London and Italy (with mostly American characters)
|
I loved this too |
| My Oxford Year |
| Maybe not what you're looking for, but I love The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion. Takes place in London, and there's stint in Derbyshire. 19th century diary format, with wit and literary quotations. |
