| For elementary and middle school kids? I know MCAP is this week but haven't seen anything on the MAP. |
| End of year- after MCAP |
| I wish the schools communicated this information clearly. We have a school newsletter but it's full of stuff like "buy the yearbook" or attend some random-respect fest instead of "your kid is going to take a test on day X". |
|
Some schools are better with posting testing schedule. MAP usually after MCAP.
MAP after 9th grade is unnecessary. It should go away. |
There's a testing window but it's very broad |
|
Teachers, even within a grade, do not need to test on the same day. There is a large window and we are told to fit it in when there is a good place for it (like right after a unit ends).
Have you asked the actual teacher? Nobody on here will know your child’s schedule. |
People aren't asking for their specific kid's testing day, but if MAP testing is supposed to be done in a span of 3 weeks or whatever, why not put that in the MCPS communications materials? Then parents are reminded that it's coming, and can ask their teacher, rather than having their kid come home and tell them they had a big test and that they wished they had gone to bed earlier the night before. |
| The teachers usually send notes about when they will be taking various tests. |
It is in communication materials. |
MAP testing dates were always included in our newsletters. In fact, you might check for a standalone email about MAP testing. Our elementary principal used to send one out to ask parents to make sure their kids were in attendance on those dates. |
My kid's teachers have been great (often sending weekly communications)-but they have never said MAP tests are on day X. |
It does, no? Haven't heard of any post-8th-grade HS tests. |
9th graders are taking MAP this year. |
