In your opinion- is 10 days in Boston too much for a trip over the 4th of July holiday. Cranky husband says that it will be boring, but I am confident that Boston has enough to entertain the three of us (12 YO active kid.)
What do you all think? Any activity suggestions? |
too much. Pair it with a trip to the cape. |
I would do 4 days in Boston and then go to Maine |
There’s plenty to do there, just don’t rush and don’t be afraid to revisit a favorite place. You could easily spend a week in the MFA. |
You can do Boston in 2-3 days!! |
I'll just warn you that my active 12 and 14 yo had ENOUGH of the historical tours after day 1 especially since you are walking in the heat in the summer in Boston! It was about 95 when we were there!

10 days seems too long. We had 3 and I wish we had 5, but not 10. |
A tour of Fenway and bball game is a must - make sure to check the schedule for when they are away. |
NP. Where would you go on the Cape? |
4 days in Boston then head to the beach - Maine cape cod or Newport |
It would be too long for me but I prefer a 7 day vacation in general. |
I’m the PP who has asked where to stay on the Cape. I’ll add a question about where to stay in Newport? Preferably on or near a beach. |
What specific activities in Boston would you recommend for an older teen? (Not OP.) I appreciate the Fenway rec, but it looks like they’ll be away for the stretch that we are there. |
I live Boston, but that is too long of a visit IMHO. |
Way too much. 3 days max in Boston. Agree with going to the beach after - Martha's Vineyard would be fun though pricey. |
