Fiji or French Polynesia

| I will be in Australia and NZ, and have an additional week to play around with, during which time I thought it would be fun to visit one of these two areas. Does anyone have thoughts on these two places, and if so, where exactly would you recommend going, since they are both places composed of hundreds of islands? In French Polynesia, I thought Mo'orea looked fun; in Fiji I'm a bit overwhelmed. No children coming along, just two adults. We enjoy water activities, food, hiking, and historical sites. |

| FP will mostly just be water activities and lounging. Moorea will have more activities than Bora Bora, but BB will be more scenic. |

Get off the main island of French Polynesia (ie, Papeete) ASAP. I liked Mo’orea.
Bora Bora is further away, pretty but very expensive. |
