| Out of the few portals, only one had a clear one. I think it's possible we are not looking in the right spot but I can't find other buttons! Is that typical?! |
| Typically larger universities do not have them. |
| Yes |
| NP wondering the same thing. What is the etiquette re: declining offers. DD has received some nice ones with merit and talent scholarships. Do those warrant an email? |
| We emailed the ones that did not have decline buttons. |
I am wondering the same thing. |
| We found a decline button for one college after clicking on enroll button. There was an option decline or accept after we clicked on enroll. Other colleges had accept and decline buttons easily accessible from the dashboard. |
| decline is by default. if you don't accept, then you are declining. don't worry about it. |
I feel bad about a huge merit one. Would an email work? |
Just send an email to admissions. It’s nice to let them know so they can start figuring out how much space they may have to take students from the waitlist. |
| all the "we" in this thread... |
| I sent emails using the general admissions office email address. |
|
You can email if you like.
My perspective is that, if they don't have a withdraw button, they don't actually care to know before the May 1 expiration of the offer of admission. |
... is normal. Teamwork. Most kids aren't mature enough to do all the details of the college applications themselves. |
| Email if you know you are declining the spot, please! One person‘s rejected spot is another person‘s happy surprise acceptance from the waitlist. Especially if there is merit aid or other perks attached. |
