Hi all - we’re looking for options for my 2012 daughter for next year. She specifically wants a club with a ECRL or GA2 pathway, she’s not doing this for a college scholarship but does want to try to make it to a higher level. She would not make one of those teams next year but wants the pathway.
We live in eastern Loudoun and feel like there aren’t many options. Rev is just too far for us to get to, so GFR and Loudoun are the 2 clubs I’m aware of. I also just read the GFR post and they don’t even have tryout dates so no idea what is going on there. Herndon doesn’t have a 2012 team. Is there one I’m missing? |

We know some people on the The Valor 2012 girls team. Team is eh on the field, started bad in the fall but seem to be doing ok lately. Coach is the head of the girls side of the house and seems to be well liked. Practices at Sully and EC lawrence.
Vienna 2012 girls are pretty decent on the field. Might be too far to drive if Loudoun is too far They are both part of the Fairfax Union house party for ECNL Loudoun 2012 Girls RL team is top of the standings currently and they are moving to GA but should do well there. If you can make that team it might be your best bet |
| Herndon just got RL on the girls side again and are having tryouts this week. They are starting from scratch so may have a good chance of making the team. GFR has a strong 2012 group since they have GFR and DMV players, but not sure if they’ll all stay since they were coached by ML. Loudoun has several 2012 teams (and all are pretty strong) so might be harder to break into a higher level team there. TSJFC is a rebuilding GA club, that might be another club to look into. They practice in Loudoun. |
| STJ. The commute is not that bad from Cascades. We adore Hanson park. |

St James possibly:

| Valor |
I seriously doubt that Herndon will be able to field a 2012 girls team for 2025-26. Too many of the 2012 girls who live in Herndon or surrounding areas have already played there and won't go back. So if you go there for tryouts, you are definitely likely to get an offer. Most are currently at GFR - there are currently three 2012 teams at GFR and they are losing all of their coaches for 2025-26. A good number of the GFR 2012s are expected to follow their coaches. Two of them are going to Loudoun East. |
The OP wants and ECNL-RL or GA2 pathway. Loudoun East is only NCSL. |
| OH is a great coach and good pickup for Loudoun East. Girls will follow him for sure. Geez, GFR is being gutted. |
She will just be on here next year complaining about it and looking to switch. Everyone hates Valor. |
Loudon East is u9-u14 only, NCSL only. |
| St James? Is Hansen Park close to you? I have seen their girls teams practicing there but otherwise have no idea how high up their league goes. |
+1 Definitely look at Herndon who will be in ECNL RL and likely best chance to get in. |
