The economy is on the precipice of a disaster. Americans are seeing trillions of dollars in wealth being evaporated in a matter of days. Even many of the mega rich GOP and their donors have large interest inje economy and markets. It is now getting so bad even Jaime Dimon and Bill Ackman, who are often two Trump cheerleaders, are sweating bullets at the direction of the United States and the economy. Dillon himself is now publicly saying Trump's actions risk permanently damaging the standing of the United States. It seems like not even uncontrollable mealses outbreaks nor severely damaging our military and state alliances have been enough to sway the GOP from blind fealty to this administration, but is a massive economic collapse enough? There are GOPers in the Senate backing a bill that would require Congressional oversight over tarriffs, but would it stand a chance in the House? How long until the GOP learns backing Trump/Musk/Vought/RFK/Miller is a political suicide? I guess it'll take massive unemployment and severe poverty to learn Trump was an epic mistake? |
They’ve shown us repeatedly over the last ten years that they’re more interested in their jobs than yours. That’s it. |
The hysteria is laughable |
I think many of the ultra wealthy know they can make lots of money during a big economic downturn just like they did during the Great Recession. Honestly these people are psychopaths. |
The ignorance is frightening. |
I was hoping the new administration would fix the border |
After the election, I was one of the people telling everyone that Trump’s win wasn’t about the economy (it’s also not about trans folk or DEI). I feel so vindicated, since they are clearly willing to stand behind their guy as the economy craters. |
MAGAs think it’s hilarious when people’s retirement and livelihood goes up in smoke |
I think the point here is that they won't have a job if they keep blindly backing Trump. Trump is going to be a hugely losing pony to ride after he crashes the economy. |
We need to make sure to prosecute these maga congresspeople and Amin officials when this is all over. A clear message needs to be sent. |
The party stayed with him through two impeachments and a coup attempt. There is no bottom. |
The only thing laughable is that you MAGA morons thought he cared about you or America. |
+1 it's been a decade already. they supported him through all of it so far. why stop now? sarah longwell's theory is that his support has to get down to about 33% before the party turns on him. let's see if him driving us into a recession for absolutely no reason gets us there. i don't have a lot of hope. somehow, i think he'll come out just fine no matter how much everyone else suffers. |
putting it as "the economy craters" is much too passive - i'd say: they are standing behind them as he purposely craters the economy. like right there, out in the open, proudly. |
So what’s it about? |
