I am trying to negotiate a long term stay and the owner is telling me they can’t see what Airbnb charges, taxes, fees are. Is it really this opaque to the owner?

Nope. They show us exactly the cost to renter as well as what we make net of taxes and fees.

Its kind of hard to see before its booked. I can see after a reservation what exactly you paid. But before, while negotiating, it is harder to see your final price.

The AirBNB fee is not known to the owner and can vary (typically from 8-15%. The owner obviously knows it own fees and can also estimate the tax because the tax rate is known. But before the booking occurs the exact AirBNB fee is not known to the owner. After the booking that fee is shown to the owner on the confirmed booking.
