Do you tip at all inclusive?

I have been to an all inclusive resort a couple of times and it has never crossed my mind to tip except for housekeeping. But I have been reading on these resort Facebook pages that of course you should tip. People are bringing $100-200 in small bills to hand out. My first thought was this is crazy. The stress from having to carry bills with me everywhere I go and then to hand them out is actually enough to want me to not go on these trips. Am I the odd one out? Does everyone tip?

It also just feels logically...stupid. I am carting around beach toys, floaties, sun gear, minding my kids, stuff getting wet, leaving every 15 minutes for kids potty breaks but someone in the midst of this I am supposed to have a discreet bag of cash with me at all times to dispense? I just don't get how people are doing this.

At the all inclusive I went to last year, you could leave cash tips with the front desk when you checked out. You could designate tips for a particular person or department (housekeeping or bartenders or whatever). Much easier than $5 at a time.

They're not carrying it all on them at once. They might stick 3 five dollar bills in their pocket. They'd tip the morning drink person $5, the lunch waiter $5 and the afternoon drinks person $5. Then they go back to the room and grab a few more bucks for dinner and post- dinner drinks.

You just keep a few bucks in your pocket and tip when convenient. If you miss someone, you'll probably get them the next day. Usually I assign this chore to my husband since I'm doing more kid stuff.

You want a front row beach chair or pool side better tip the night before.

Yes, of course. But more like $5-20. As a group, we of course gave more.

No, unless you want something "extra" from one of the staff on the sly and not part of the "all inclusive".

Workers will side hustle information especially (best locations for this or that to go, selling you some items you can't get at the resort, etc.) or even other things like escorts, drugs, etc.

Don't hate on the messenger, and I am not condoning illegal activities, but just telling the reality of it.

If you want to tip for stuff like bringing your drinks out to the beach for you, then sure, but it's not expected and seen as a bit excessive. But they will take your money for sure unless they are forbidden by management.
